Conding and analysis of visual signals for machines

Aim and scope: Image and video coding have been traditionally tailored for human consumption. Now we are witnessing a proliferation of edge devices and cameras coupled with a need for automatic processing of vast amounts of recorded and streamed signals. In this session we aim to present and discuss challenges and opportunities in the coding of visual signals for machine consumption.

Topics of interest include:

-        Video coding for machines

-        Image coding for machines

-        Feature-based coding for image and video processing

-        Frameworks and benchmarks for image and video coding for machines

-        Utility-based quality analysis of coded signals for machines
